Welcome to Navi’s Travel Blog. This Blog was set up at the behest of several of my friends and colleagues who were happy to hear stories and get information on my travels.
I have a unique and interesting background. I was born in Nigeria and raised in Zambia (Central Africa). Both my parents were Indian and moved to Africa in the 60s to live and work—they were both educators. I came to the United States in 1985 and have been here since. I am currently involved in the aviation business, so if I sometimes go off on a tangent regarding aircraft and aviation, forgive my indulgence.
As a child I was fascinated by world geography, and having a father that was a geography teacher helped. As a family, we traveled quite a bit within Africa. The travel bug really kicked in the early 2000s. So far I am at 40-plus countries.
My previous career and profession were not conducive to travel. However, I am now a business owner and self-employed, and this has allowed me the opportunity to travel.
Most of my initial travel was planned by travel agencies and travel agents—to avoid problems and make everything convenient. As time went by, I organized my own travel and was able to guide and work with agents—by educating myself on the country.
